Motorola Droid 3 – Is this the Droid your looking for?

The Motorola DROID 3 has been spotted in the wild and will be evidently coming to Verizon and available through Best Buy later this summer.

The DROID 3 will haveroughly the the same design as its predecessor the DROID 2 . As can be seen in the photo with this device, the Motorola package with a five-row sliding QWERTY keyboard. Personally, really looking forward to this phone, Im wanting it already.
The Motorola-DROID-3 seems to feature a 4-inch touch screen, which can give QHD resolution (540 x 960 pixels). Also a dual-core processor will make it fast app wise, an open question is if it will get 4G fastness as well, we will see!

From the first photo seems Droid 3 will come with two ports, USB and HDMI, take that iPad and USB-less Tablets!!
Looking forward to giving this deck a spin when its out, I believe that this is the droid I am looking for…

Motorola Droid X2 versus HTC Incredible 2, Fight!

And the winner is….. The Droid X2!

PC World has an informative review where they compare the Droid X2 and the HTC Incredible 2 side by side.
Note that these are not 4G LTE phones, such as the Droid Charge and the HTC ThunderBolt.

The Droid X2 has a larger screen (4.3 inches versus the Incredible 2′s 4-inch screen), and is thinner–but not lighter–than the Droid Incredible 2. Screen resolution is also better on the Droid X2, at 540 by 960 pixels versus the Incredible 2′s 480 by 800 pixels.

Check out the Full Spec Comparison Chart:
Although the Droid X2 is basically just a Droid X with bumped up specs, Motorola’s Droid packs more punch than does HTC–dual core puncy, that is. The X2 rocks a 1GHz dual-core processor, while the Incredible 2 struggles by with a single-core processor. The Incredible 2 does have more RAM at 768MB (512MB on the X2), but less onboard storage–1.1GB compared to 8GB on the X2.

Motorola Photon 4G

An Android 2.3 Gingerbread World phone with dual-core Nvidia processor and 8 megapixel camera…

Motorola Photon 4G is Sprint’s first dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 smartphone. As many speculated earlier, the Photon 4G is similar to the Motorola Atrix 4G and also features a 4.3-inch qHD display, 16GB of onboard memory with expansion capabilities, and Webtop app connectivity.

That said, the Photon 4G isn’t a carbon copy of the Atrix running on a CDMA network. It’s actually a world phone, so you can use it on Sprint’s 3G/4G network and overseas. The smartphone also ships running Android 2.3 Gingerbread (with Motoblur) and has an 8-megapixel camera, whereas the Atrix runs Android 2.2 and has a 5-megapixel camera. The Photon is slightly bigger in size, mostly in thickness, but offers a built-in kickstand.

Other notables include mobile hot-spot capabilities for up to eight devices, a front-facing VGA camera, an HDMI port, and extra security features to satisfy enterprise and corporate customers.

There will be a number of accessories, including an HD multimedia dock and a car dock, available at launch.

Motorola Atrix 4G

“PC World ranks the Motorola Atrix 4G as their #1 Android phone model from their top ten Android phone list.”

A lot of excitement surrounded the Motorola Atrix at the Consumer Electronics show in January. It appeared to be not just another phone, but the cornerstone of a new concept that might deliver the mobility of a smartphone and the superior usability of a laptop in a single product.

After using the Atrix itself for a day or so, I came away impressed with the phone–especially the power of its processor, the clarity of its display, its no-hard-edges design, and its compact shape. Frankly, it’s a phone I would buy.

But I’m giving low marks to the new smartphone/laptop combo device that Motorola proposes with the Atrix. I like the idea of a close bonding of the two devices, but the execution in this instance is poor.

Still, the Atrix itself is a strong addition to AT&T’s growing line up of Android phones. The phone is one of the first AT&T phones to be branded “4G”, and the connection speeds I saw from the phone, while not quite 4G-like, were much faster than the 3G speeds we’ve measured from the AT&T network in the past.

Motorola Droid X

The Motorola Droid X is a beast, but in a good way…

The Motorola Droid X boasts a gorgeous 4.3-inch touch screen and great multimedia features like an 8-megapixel camera with HD video capture, HDMI output, and DLNA support. The smartphone can also be used as a mobile hot spot. However, the camera is a bit sluggish. Motoblur software is a lot better but still not quite as refined as HTC Sense and it also lacks a front-facing camera.

The Droid X is one of the latest members to join Verizon’s Android army, and just like the original Droid before it, it’s a beast, but in a good way. The smartphone rocks a brilliant 4.3-inch touch screen and offers some great multimedia features, including an 8-megapixel camera with HD video capture, HDMI output, and DLNA support. However, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that it does lack some features that the similar-looking HTC Evo 4G has, such as a front-facing camera and, of course, 4G support.

Motorola Droid

“The Droid is a phone for sophisticated types and business people…”

Verizon and Motorola have made a big to do about their flagship Android smartphone and the Moto Droid might just be all that. It’s fast, it’s got a simply huge 480 x 854 pixel capacitive touch screen, it’s skinny and it has a slider QWERTY keyboard. The Droid is the first Android 2.0 OS phone and it’s full of the usual Google goodies like Gmail, YouTube and Maps plus built-in MS Exchange support and other amenities. The Droid has a GPS that works with Google Maps, WiFi, Bluetooth with A2DP stereo and a very good 5 megapixel camera. This review includes a video review. Editor’s Choice Award 2009.

The Droid is a modern minimalist phone, lacking the trademark styling of HTC’s Hero or the slim stone look of the Palm Pre. It’s a basic rectangle, but it’s very slim for a QWERTY slider and it looks like a high class piece. It’s solid and well made, and the slider moves with a smooth motion that clicks when opened or closed fully. The battery cover is made of metal with a grippy soft touch finish. The Droid is a phone for sophisticated types and business people, while the Motorola Cliq on T-Mobile is more of a plastic youth messaging device that happens to run Android OS (ver. 1.5). At 6 ounces the phone feels weighty in a good way, and it’s in the same size class as the iPhone, HTC Imagio and Samsung Moment Android phone on Sprint (though the Droid is thinner than the Moment). It’s infinitely more pocketable than the HTC Touch Pro2 on Verizon since it’s gobs thinner, though it’s wide and tall enough that you’ll want to be careful when sitting down.
